RTRC Director Hsin-Shu Chen Delivers Keynote at Taiwan-Poland Forum on Radiation Tolerance for CubeSat Missions 2026-02-26

Prof. Hsin-Shu Chen, Director of the NTU Radiation Application and Hardness Technology Research Center (RTRC), was invited to speak at the "Bilateral Taiwan-Poland Forum on Applications of Microelectronics and Nanotechnology" on February 26, 2026. Director Chen delivered a technical presentation titled "Radiation Tolerance of Space Electronics for CubeSat Missions: Research Activities at NTU RTRC."
As CubeSat missions increasingly rely on advanced integrated circuits, radiation tolerance has become a critical reliability concern. Director Chen introduced RTRC’s integrated approach, combining radiation-hardened IC design, single-event-effect (SEE) evaluation, and multi-platform irradiation testing using heavy-ion beams, short-pulse lasers, and proton facilities. By sharing representative test results and design case studies, the talk illustrated RTRC’s expertise in mitigation strategies and practical tradeoffs for space electronics. This participation highlights RTRC’s commitment to international scientific exchange and its leading role in developing robust, cost-effective technologies for future space exploration.
