The Space Radiation Testing Course, hosted by the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA) on December 4, was
successfully completed. The program brought together experts from academia and industry, with NTU
RTRC’s Deputy Director Prof. Chia-Han Lee and Executive Director Prof. Kuen-Yu Tsai invited as
speakers to share insights on radiation testing methodologies and mission reliability analysis.
The course covered a comprehensive range of topics, including the space radiation environment,
failure modes and mission reliability, domestic radiation testing resources, radiation effect test
procedures and validation, as well as strategies for applying COTS components. The curriculum
effectively combined theoretical depth with practical applications.
Participant engagement was highly enthusiastic, with active questions and discussions reflecting
strong industry interest in space radiation challenges. We extend our appreciation to TASA for its
planning efforts and to all participants for their support. NTU RTRC will continue to contribute its
expertise to promote radiation-related knowledge and support the growth of Taiwan’s space industry.
